wbd is a shared whiteboard compatible with the wb whiteboard.
Written in C and Tcl/Tk, wbd implements most of wb's features, with a few exceptions:
wbd supports wb's distributed memory and all of its drawing primitives. wbd also has one feature that wb does not: it supports the use of a pressure-sensitive drawing tablet, (note the spine of the leaf in the figure).

Although wbd is fairly complete it has a couple of problems, particularly with drawing speed on pages with more than 500 items (i.e. freehand drawings). Hopefully optimising the drawing operations by moving parts of their control flow from Tcl to C will improve performance.
wbd was written to allow better integration with the ssd session directory / simplified conferencing environment.
The source to wbd will soon be made available under a BSD-style copyright.
